Google Announces Less Expensive Alternative to Microsoft Office
Google unveiled the enterprise version of Google Apps , a set of communication and collaboration tools that provide an alternative to Microsoft Office for companies that are willing to sacrifice functionality for cost savings.
Available for on $50 (US) per user, per year, Google Apps Premier Edition includes such upgrades as integration with Google Docs & Spreadsheets , support for Gmail on BlackBerry mobile devices, 10GB of e-mail storage per user, round-the-clock phone support and service-level agreements promising 99.9 percent uptime. Advertising is turned off in the upgraded version unless businesses want the ads to remain.
"The main reason someone would buy it is because it's cheap," says Erica Driver, a principal analyst at Forrester Research "It's $50 (US) per user, far less than Microsoft Office."
Driver calls Google Apps Premier Edition a "direct shot at Microsoft Office," even though she says that was not Google's intent. Although the functionality of Google Apps is less advanced than that of Office, the Google tool is extremely easy to use and will force Microsoft to improve its own product, she says.

Ten Simple Ways To Increase Your Internet Sales Quickly!
1. The BIGGEST reason products flop is poor copy, evaluate your Sales Copy. If you are not selling well, take some time to “sharpen the tools”.
2. People will buy from you if they believe you offer value. Proof of this is as simple as getting and displaying Testimonials from other clients. Let your clients be your spokesperson. Always ask your customers what they think of your product or service, then ask them to put it in writing for you … presto, you have testimonials, now use them.
3. Follow Up, Follow Up, Follow Up. Sending one message to a client will rarely equate to a sale. Most people have to see your message five or more times before they want to buy from you.
4. Provide Valuable Products – FREE! Everyone wants something for nothing, providing your clients with something of value that is free will leave an impact with them, AND drive up sales. Some of the best freebies include information products like an audio or Video CD or DVD or a book or catalogue, they are inexpensive and invaluable.
5. Offer a Bonus. Clients always enjoy receiving more than what they asked for, why not take the opportunity to impress them even more, by offering something special to them?
6. Create A Direct-Response Website. This limits your customer’s selection of products so they can focus on your product page and are encouraged to buy from you.
7. Always Build Relationships. The best customers are loyal customers, and the only way to cultivate a loyal customers is by gaining their trust by; Personalizing messages, be honest with information, don’t always be selling, show the benefits of your product or service.
8. Price Products by Value. All products and services have a value, you need to understand what that value is to you clients and price them accordingly. Does your client need a product or service? Explain how you can fill their need and the benefits.
9. Instill Urgency. Client’s who purchase your product or service well start to receive immediate benefits. YOU need to convey that message to them.
10. Take Advantage of Info Marketing Products. Nothing makes an ordinary product or service look more extraordinary than information marketing. These include audio or video CDs or DVDs, books or catalogues or other similar products. Your goal should always be to help your clients.
